Yes, there was violence but the primary tool to repeal RvW was judicial capture. I see it like this - if judicial capture hadn’t happened, violence would not have succeeded in eliminating RvW. The opposite is not true.

I read your article to mean that change always comes at the barrel of a gun. I’m questioning that but it’s possible that I’m reading your article too narrowly.
