Wait, your argument for why people signing up for Threads will regret it boils down to "it is not available in the EU" and "the terms of service mean that you risk nuking your Insta account if you want to delete your Threads account"?

First of all, fuck the EU because its preachiness about data protection and privacy is getting old.

I get it. Privacy is important but European bloggers really need to tone down their "My daddy strongest..." mentality. Maybe the rest of the world sees what you see and still decides differently? Maybe running to mommy to resolve your socio-politico-economic booboos is why Europe innovates on laws not product?

Next.

Yes, tying the existence of Insta to Threads was a dark pattern. I'll give you that. But your think piece is not directed at the kind of people who are considering deleting their Threads app. You address the general "you" meaning the average Insta/Threads user.

What makes you think that the average Threads user will hate the app so much that they will want to delete it, get hit with a pop-up warning them that their insta will disappear along with Threads, and will regret the day they signed up for Threads?

So, yeah, this article is dumb. You usually write much better than this crock.
