The most recent two state solution was rejected by Yassir Arafat because (a) all of East Jerusalem was not going to end up in Palestinian hands. This was not negotiable since they feel EJ is theirs (b) Palestinians would not be allowed to reclaim territories/homes inside Israel that historically belonged to them but were usurped by Israelis. This was also not acceptable.

I’m sure the other four instances when the two state solution was rejected had equally nuanced reasons, not just Palestinian intransigence.

Would Israel have accepted a two state solution where all of Jerusalem was given to the Palestinians? The Palestinians felt the deal offered to them was loaded against them. Tbh, I can see why.

Israel should have negotiated in good faith if they wanted the Palestinians to agree.
