Thanks so much for your response. I can see that you're really upset...about an argument I am not even making.

I'm not sure why you're so stridently defending ...America...in response my comment which called on the author to write a piece similar to this one but from a Palestinian perspective.

To the average Palestinian, does it matter that American women can protest on the streets without wearing a Hijab (yay!!) and vote for whomever they want if the result of American support and money is that they have to navigate checkpoints and Israeli guns just to survive (booo!!)?

Israeli settlers and the Israeli government are committing war crimes when they move into occupied lands. The entire world recognizes this but can do nothing because Israel is protected by American vetos at the UN. I guess being a moral beacon for humanity doesn't extend to Palestinian humans.

If I squint a little, I can sort of understand the intense anger of Palestinians about the way the world is set up right now.

Do I support war crimes like rape and disemboweling civilians? Of course not. These actions are on the same list of war crimes I don't support which includes illegal settlement of occupied lands and declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel without accommodating Palestinian wishes.

I'm glad you enjoy American freedoms.

It's the American realpolitik that you need to enjoy less and resist more...and it begins by asking for consistency from her elected leaders and canceling that blank cheque to Israel.
